Websites can vary in size from just one page to many millions of pages (the Microsoft website contains over 2 million pages!).
When creating a website or new section on your site, it is always best to first plan the structure on paper such as in the example below.

The structure does not need to contain the web page content but rather should show what pages are located under which section. This helps to create a logical structure for your site (ie the pages for your different events fall under the ‘Weekly Activities’ folder). As your site grows and more content is added to it then it can help to keep your site manageable. It is also great for planning what information you will need for the different sections.
Good pages to have
Your church may have many events/ meetings each month and most of these can be publicized on your website (events which you may not want to publicize could be member meetings). At Church Edit we recommend that each event should have its own dedicated web page providing all the information about that event such as:
- What happens
- Who is the event for
- Contact Information
- Location information.
- Finally, don’t forget to include on your page an invitation for people to come!
And of course with Church Edit, creating your web pages and site navigation has never been easier - if you can use a computer mouse then you will be able to easily create your website.
